COP30 - 10 - 21 November 2025
About
About
We are a group of very ordinary, concerned Christians who want to pray in an informed way about global climate issues and the impact these have on individuals unseen to us: unseen because they live far away, and unseen because they may not yet have been born.
Six of us are members of St Mungo's Church, Balerno and Livingston. We meet together via Zoom on a Monday morning to pray about issues that focus on Creation Care, and it was this commitment that gave rise to the first COP prayer resource in 2022.
The original resource was produced by Sue McLeod and Alison Marshall, from St Mungo's Church and in 2023 Ricci and Karen Downard, members of Currie Community Church and Holy Trinity in Wester Hailes joined the 'team'.
Sue, Alison, Ricci and Karen organise the resource, but they are ably supported by the rest of the St Mungo's Creation Care Prayer Cell: Sue Davies, Lorna Thompson, Lynne Campbell and Wendy White, who sense check the writing, filter out dodgy theology and check that all the links work.
None of us considers ourselves an expert in the things we have written about over the four COP prayer resources. However, between us we have experience of volunteering with Tearfund, promoting fair trade, campaigning with Results UK, exploring and implementing lifestyle changes, and a career in environmental compliance.
This website is not endorsed by any of the churches mentioned, and whilst we are not experts in everything that has been posted, we hope that our efforts will enable you to pray wisely.
If you'd like to contact us we'd love to hear from you.
